RVU benchmarks for mid-level providers
Two list serv responses:  One response stating that APRNs and LCSWs have targets of 2,900/year which is 78% of that institutions MD target and 91% of PhD target. Second institution responsing  stated that productivity is time based.  Adult clinicians of all disciplines (MD, NP, LISW, PhD, LPCC) have a goal of 80% billed face to face time of their available time.  Child providers have a goal of 75% face to face time billed for their their available time.

Release of Information and Code Preference
List Serv Questions:  1. When your department responds to subpoena requests and release of information requests, do you rely on your medical center's HIM department or your own dept's medical records staff?  Of the responding institutions, 3 utilize their dept's medical records staff and 7 utilize their medical center's HIM department.
2. Do your psychiatrists submit primarily E&M or psychiatric codes for billing outpatient visits?  Of the responding institutions, 4 utilize both types of codes but E&M most frequently, 2 utilize primarily psychiatric codes, and 4 utilize primarily E&M codes.
